# Privacy Policy

Effective September 12, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Opsquill Studio handles information when you browse
the website, follow by email, enter the Studio, comment, add Follow-ups, contact
the studio, or use other participation features that may be introduced.

## 1. Who operates this website

Opsquill Studio operates this website and its public content. The site is hosted
and supported by WordPress.com and related Automattic services. Questions about
this policy or information handled directly by Opsquill Studio can be sent to [contact@opsquillstudio.com](https://opsquillstudio.com/privacy/contact@opsquillstudio.com?subject=Privacy%20Request%20%E2%80%94%20Opsquill%20Studio).

## 2. Information you provide

Depending on how you use the site, you may provide an email address for subscriptions
or sign-in, a display name or profile information associated with your WordPress.
com identity, comments, Follow-ups, future member-created Thoughts, messages sent
by email, and any other information you intentionally submit.

Please do not submit passwords, authentication codes, payment-card details, complete
financial records, or other sensitive information unless a feature specifically
and securely requires it.

## 3. Following Opsquill and email updates

When you follow Opsquill Studio, WordPress.com processes your subscription and email
delivery. A confirmation step may be required before the subscription becomes active.
Your subscription status, delivery preferences, and related newsletter activity
are managed through WordPress.com services.

Opsquill Studio may use the subscription system to send new Thoughts, Studio Notes,
or other published updates according to the settings in effect. You can manage or
stop your subscription using the controls provided in WordPress.com emails or subscriber
tools.

## 4. Enter Studio and authentication

Subscriber and participant authentication is handled by WordPress.com rather than
by a custom Opsquill password database. Depending on WordPress.com account options,
a person may authenticate using a password, an emailed login link, or supported
social sign-in methods. Opsquill Studio does not receive or store your WordPress.
com password.

Authentication information and security events may be processed by WordPress.com,
Automattic, and any identity provider you choose to use for sign-in, under their
own privacy terms.

## 5. Comments, Follow-ups, and other public participation

Comments, Follow-ups, display names, timestamps, profile images, and any public
member-created Thoughts may be visible to other visitors when submitted in public
areas of this website. Please do not post information you do not intend to make
public, including another person’s private information.

Opsquill Studio may review, moderate, hide, remove, or retain proportionate records
of community activity to operate its features, address safety concerns, handle complaints,
resolve disputes, or protect the rights of contributors and the studio. Publication
on this website does not transfer ownership of your original protected contributions
to Opsquill Studio.

Selected public Thoughts and Follow-ups can also be shared through the studio’s
social-publishing features as described below. Whether a particular contributor
submission is shared externally depends on the applicable publishing workflow; posting
on the website alone should not be understood as a promise that every contribution
will be cross-posted.

Opsquill Studio may review, moderate, hide, remove, or retain limited records of
community activity where reasonably necessary to operate the site, enforce the Terms
of Use or Community Guidelines, address abuse, resolve disputes, or protect users
and the studio.

## 6. Technical and usage information

WordPress.com and Automattic may process technical information needed to host, secure,
measure, and operate the website. Depending on the service and visitor settings,
this may include IP address, browser and device information, operating system, referring
page, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, cookies, site interactions,
and Site Stats information.

Opsquill Studio does not currently operate a separate custom behavioral advertising
or cross-site profiling system of its own.

## 7. Cookies and similar technologies

WordPress.com, Automattic, and enabled site features may use cookies or similar
technologies for sign-in, security, preferences, subscriptions, comments, analytics,
and other platform functions. Third-party services may also use their own technologies
when you interact with them.

## 8. Social sharing and external services

Opsquill Studio uses social-publishing integrations for selected publicly published
material, including studio Thoughts, visual cards, and associated Follow-ups, on
Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. When publication to one of these platforms is
enabled, the service may send the selected public text, image or visual card, link,
and associated public attribution or display name, where included in the material,
to that platform.

To operate and troubleshoot cross-posting, Opsquill Studio may process publishing
status, platform identifiers for posts or comments, related public links, timestamps,
and available engagement information. The precise information processed depends
on the connected platform and enabled feature. Not every website contribution is
necessarily shared on each platform.

Once material is posted externally, it is also handled by the relevant platform
under its own privacy practices and retention rules. Removing a Thought, Follow-
up, or comment from Opsquill Studio does not necessarily delete an existing external
post, comments, screenshots, or copies previously shared elsewhere. If you wish
to raise a concern about publicly shared material, contact the studio with the relevant
URL.

## 9. How information is used

Information may be used to operate and secure the website, deliver subscriptions,
authenticate participants, display and manage public contributions, respond to messages,
provide support, understand site usage, improve Opsquill Studio, prevent abuse and
spam, keep appropriate operational records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

## 10. Service providers and disclosures

Opsquill Studio relies on WordPress.com and Automattic services for website hosting,
subscriptions, authentication, comments, and related functions. For selected social
publishing, Meta-operated platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Threads may
also receive public content and related publishing information as described above.
Other service providers may handle information only to the extent their actual enabled
features require it.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary for lawful requests,
safety, abuse investigation, rights protection, or operational integrity, subject
to applicable law. Opsquill Studio does not sell subscriber or participant personal
information as a business model.

Opsquill Studio does not sell subscriber or participant personal information as
a business model.

## 11. Retention and deletion

Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purposes, normal
operational records, moderation and safety, legal obligations, or the functioning
of supported platform services. Public contributions may remain available until
removed by the contributor where a control exists, by Opsquill Studio, or following
an applicable valid request.

Website deletion or removal does not guarantee simultaneous deletion from connected
social platforms, backups, caches, or independent copies already distributed. Requests
concerning externally published content may require a separate platform action or
review.

## 12. Your choices and requests

You can unsubscribe using newsletter controls, manage WordPress.com account and
subscription settings through WordPress.com, and contact Opsquill Studio about information
the studio handles directly. Depending on applicable law and the nature of the data,
rights of access, correction, erasure or blocking, objection, and other data-subject
rights may apply.

For a privacy or public-content request, email [contact@opsquillstudio.com](https://opsquillstudio.com/privacy/contact@opsquillstudio.com?subject=Privacy%20or%20Content%20Request)
and identify the relevant page or public post and the action you are requesting.
Please do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

## 13. Security

Opsquill Studio uses the security and authentication capabilities of its platform
providers and avoids storing website passwords directly. No online service can guarantee
absolute security, so participants should also protect their own email and WordPress.
com accounts.

## 14. Children

The website and its participation features are not specifically designed for children.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information that should be reviewed
or removed, contact Opsquill Studio.

## 15. Product-specific privacy policies

Individual Opsquill Studio products may have separate privacy policies when their
data practices differ from this website. For example, Cashflow Companion Mini has
its own [app-specific Privacy Policy](https://opsquillstudio.com/privacy/cashflow-companion-mini/).

## 16. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Opsquill Studio adds or changes subscriptions, identity
features, community participation, analytics, advertising, commerce, social integrations,
or other services that materially affect information handling. The latest material
update date will be shown above.

## 17. Platform privacy information

For platform-level processing, you can review Automattic’s [Privacy Notice for Visitors to Users’ Sites](https://automattic.com/privacy-notice/)
and [Cookie Policy](https://automattic.com/cookies/).
